A revitalized the Russian player claimed his initial trophy for nearly 30 months with success over opponent Moutet in the tournament title decider.
The athlete, a ex- number one, has experienced a difficult year, achieving just one match at the big events and experiencing a difficult moment at the New York tournament.
The player's unpredictability on the ATP Tour - and struggles with his serving in especial - resulted in him falling of the world's top 10 and ultimately parting ways with long-term trainer his previous coach.
Now training with Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, he has consistently improved in the last few weeks - culminating in a closely contested 7-5 4-6 6-3 triumph over challenger Moutet.

Victory also indicates the Russian has won twenty-one championships at twenty-one various competitions.
"This marks the first occasion I have attended a tournament with my children simultaneously, so to secure a title is especially meaningful," commented world number 14 Daniil Medvedev.
"This championship is in honour of my child her name, because the initial championship I won when my older daughter her name was born was for her."

The player's counter-punching approach and regular emotional displays on the playing surface had led observers to question if his ability to play at the elite level was concluded.
Yet the 29-year-old has implemented adjustments in the last few weeks, attempting to come to the net and compete positively, reinforced by an improved serving game.
Medvedev fought back from a deficit in the first set against the tricky Moutet, securing four of the concluding five exchanges to take the lead.
The pair swapped breaks in the second set before Moutet, striving for his maiden ATP Tour title, took control to push for a third set.
The opponent rescued 4 early opportunities in a tight deciding set before the champion broke to 15 to secure the win.
Appropriately, Medvedev secured the title with a rally at the net, with the Frenchman unable to handle a shot after over two and a half hours.
